Zale Corp appointed Mr John B Lowe Jr as the new Chairman of the company on Monday. He superseded Richard Marcus who will nonetheless continue to serve as the Director of jewelry retailing. John Lowe was nominated as the Chairman at a crucial time when the company was selling its up-market chain of Bailey Banks & Biddle to concentrate on essential brands including Zales Jewelers and Gordon's Jewelers.
Lowe joined the board in 2004 and is known to simultaneously hold the Chairmanship of Dallas-based plumbing contractor TDIndustries Ltd and presidency of Dallas Independent School District board.
